Apple Music Integration

BopQuiz is not just a fun game, but also a fun way to find new music or interact with forgotten songs.
After every guess and between rounds, you can continue to listen to the song, exit the app, come back, add it to your library or open it in the native Apple Music App. You are in control, just like you are used to.

Leaderboards

For every playlist and every mode, there is a competitive international leaderboard.
You can play a playlist multiple times, but each mode only once a day + every retry is marked with a little icon.
These rules and our anti-cheat features are there to keep the leaderboards exciting and the first try important.

Single Player Modes

You can play a few different modes when you are playing by yourself. Play 15 to 60 songs, guess just the artist or play the one second-only mode.
Or set your own rules and play the Freestyle mode just how you like to.

If you think there is something missing, hit me up!

In-App Purchases

You can basically play the game and all modes for free, but some limitations are there to entice you to buy stuff (support my work and further development).
You start with a stack of free tickets which are each valid for a single round. Every day you log in you will get additional tickets.
This is not a subscription based game, you can buy lifetime single- & multiplayer, as well as All Access Passes.

FAQ

Who is behind BopQuiz?

It’s me, Malte.

How to contact you for feedback or questions?

You can write feedback inside the app which I will read, but I can’t really answer there.
You can write an email to malte@bopquiz.app or on Reddit via r/BopQuiz and I will get back to you ASAP.

Anything else?

The Vinyl that you see moves in 33 rpm and is written in pure SwiftUI. And the needle moves with each track.. Yes, I know!

Why do I need Apple Music? Is there no Spotify integration?

All songs, playlists and their metadata is coming from the Apple Music API. If you want to listen to the songs, you need an active subscription.
Sadly Spotify doesn’t allow the use of their API for “name that tune” kind a games (after they bought and got rid of Heardle).

Will there be an Android app?

At the moment I’m fully packed with work, so I can’t even think about it. And it doesn’t look very enticing, there aren’t that many Apple Music users on Android devices.

But there will be a companion app for Android. For a BopSesh, one Apple Music user on an iOS device can start a session and the friends or family can join with their device – on iOS or Android.
